Where to start? There has been much going on and many things keeping me busy. Do you all remember my last giveaway? Well, after emailing back and forth with CalamityJr, I decided to send her the 272 Words pattern with the DMC. I had never seen this pattern before, and have to say, it is an ambitious project, something like 24 pages ambitious!!
It is the Gettysburg Address! Looks like she and Denise from Riverside Stitching will be doing a SAL later this year. And even better, perhaps we can all convince CalamityJr to start a blog so we can see her progress! I'm sure many of you have seen her comments on your blogs, so perhaps you could leave her some encouragement in my comment section!
I have been stitching, but can't show the projects just yet. The first of what I hope to be twelve new ornaments, is stitched and needs to be finished. I'll be able to show you all next week. I am working away on an exchange piece as well. After that, it will be back to the Humility Sampler. It calls to me whenever I sit in my chair!
I do have some stitching to show you. My friend picked up stitching about 16 months ago....and not just stitching, but stitching on linen! She's currently working on a project using 40 count ~ I'll show that when it's done, but in the meantime....feast your eyes on this!
She's a natural!! She wanted to use her name instead of the wording that was graphed, and wouldn't you know that Paulette from Plum Street Samplers was kind enough to graph it out for her! How awesome is that?
It's time to post for the TUSAL! If you aren't sure what this is all about and would like to join, just click on the link: TUSAL. Here is my January jar...can you find it?
I thought if I distracted you with the "Dirty Snowmen", that you wouldn't notice how empty the jar looks....
There has been a jump in the number of my followers (Welcome!) and I think it may be due to a very lucky streak that I had this week! Last year, the hostess of the TUSAL, Daffycat, collected donations throughout the year for a giveaway for those that posted their updates every month. I was shocked to see my name announced as the winner! It will be like Christmas all over again when the box arrives! Thank you to all that contributed and to Daffycat for hosting. Then, Valerie from Fog City Dweller, let me know that I was the winner of her beautiful giveaway ~ she suggested I go buy a lottery ticket, I may just do that today!
In the spirit of the recent snow, and being that we haven't had an earthquake since August, I'll leave you with another Pooh quote...
“It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily.
"So it is."
"And freezing."
"Is it?"
"Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately.”

You did Dirty Snowmen as an ornament?? What an idea! I have a circular frame I had considered for it but as an ornie...hmm something to think about!
At least the boys (big and small) got to play!
Love the quote!!! lol! Eeyore is my hero. I always say I'm an Eeyore in temperament. lol! And yes, you need to buy a lottery ticket! Talk about big time wins! Congrats on those! Your friend really did take to stitching, didn't she? Paulette has got to be the nicest person ever, right? She's so sweet! As for the snow -- the storm this past weekend was just right. Light, fluffy snow, maybe 5 or 6 inches, not hard to shovel or blow. And it's all gone now. lol! Perfect! And I'm ready for no more snow! lol!
Oh my! That WILL be quite a project. Please tell Calamity Jr. 'about me' and that I hope she will open a progress blog.
The dirty snowmen project is just SO CUTE! Love it! Who is the designer?
Lovely sampler stitched by your friend. Congrats on winning, I agree.. buy a lottery ticket! Have a happy day!
Oh, that's a fantastic sampler finished by your friend. It looks awesome and so nice of Paulette to graph out her name. Love the snowy photos! I know it's cold and all but snow looks so pretty! Go buy that lottery ticket! =)

Wow, you certainly have had a lucky streak! Remember me, won't you, if you win millions on that lottery ticket! ;0)
The crown sampler is gorgeous, I can't believe your friend is relatively new to stitching and she's using 40ct??! Hats off!
I'm off now to look up 'Dirty Snowmen' on google. I've never seen it before and I HAVE to stitch it!

I am anxious to see the progress on Gettysburg Address. I just received that one in the mail a week or so ago. Hmm...I think I see yet ANOTHER start to go in my ever-growing WIP basket.
You are a lucky girl indeed! That is a mighty fine win. Let me know if you need any help with that one ;)
You can have the snow. My playing in the snow years have been over for quite some time.
The GA looks awesome, I should look into that one. I would love to cheer on Calamity Jr, if she plans to start a blog.
I have seen you have won a few things on other blogs, Lucky you!
Your friend that just started stitching did a fabulous job and how nice of Paulette to graph for her.
Take care!!!
Wonderful wins! You should buy a lottery ticket. What a beautiful job your friend did. Beautiful piece.
Your lucky streak couldn't happen to a nicer person, Catherine--hope it continues all year :)
Your friend's stitching is lovely--she sure did dive right in, didn't she!! I've only ever stitched on 40 ct. once myself!
Your snow pictures really capture the beauty and silence of winter--just lovely...
LOVE Pooh!! I love that Dirty Snowmen ornament - so cute!
You have had a lucky streak! Congratulations. Mary Brett's piece is gorgeous and I just love your Dirty Snowmen.
Your friend does beautiful work. Congrats on your wins. How did the lottery ticket work out? We also have no snow! It is brown and dirty outside from all the salt and sand. We have had a lot of ice/snow mix. The snow leaves and the ice stays. If we can't have snow, I am ready for Spring too. Happy New Year.
Love love the dirty snowman. And the Gettysburg address? Wow--too many pages, too many words. (CalamityJr, please start a blog. It won't hurt--we promise!)
Lovely snow pictures. I can't decide if we need the snow here or not.
Dirty Snowmen is a cutie. Well done to your friend, 40ct is way too small for my eyes.
A lovely chart you gave away.
Nice pics of your snow, but thats the way i like it, through the PC screen!
Congratulations on your wins! Enjoy the new stash. The dirty snowmen are very cute and I love the Pooh quote.
Please start a blog Calamityjr. We'd love to see your stitching.
Congratulations on your wins Catherine. It couldn't happen to a nicer person- you deserve it.
Your friends finish is gorgeous!
I love Dirty Snowman!
Lovely snow pics. I'm still longing for some. I've hated our winter!
Just saw you won the 2011 TUSAL prize. WOW! Congrats!!!
Nothing nicer than having a lucky streak and what lovely goodies you've won! Great snow pics, stay warm! Love your friend's stitching. I've been stitching 25+ years and I still haven't attempted 40ct!!!!
Now that's a project! WOW! I don't think it would keep my attention long enough for me to finish it. I'm guessing but is it all over one?
Your friend has done a fabulous job for just a beginner!
We had a bit of snow today but it will be gone by tomorrow because we're going to get lots of rain :o(
I saw that!!!! Congratulations Catherine! Enjoy :o)
Congrats on your lucky streak!! That TUSAL box is gonna be like Christmas day times TEN to open up. lol
Lovely sampler!!! :)
Mary's stitching is beautiful.
