What a crazy weekend! With my husband working, it was my job to get the boys to all of their functions. Not much stitching was accomplished, so sorry, no stitchy pictures this time.
Sunday, in between baseball practices, we had the race. The Pinewood Derby. If you have ever had a son in scouts, you know what I am talking about! Here are the cars the boys built this year:
From left to right, we have the screaming fastball car from the oldest, the monorail from the little guy and the wedge from the middle guy. They all did really well, but sadly, missed placing for trophies by fractions of seconds! They are already planning their cars for next year!
I did take a few moments to walk our yard and found some signs of spring!
This is one of about three pairs of doves that frequent our back deck. Looks like spring has them all twitterpated as I caught a pic of them kissing - look at the picture on the right side in the middle (The picture should enlarge if you click on it).
Here are some more signs of spring.
Refreshing to see after such a cold, long winter!
I hope to have some stitching updates later in the week. As always, thanks for stopping by!

Hey Catherine! Love the doves :) I love when birds fluff out and get all fat when they lay down. Haha!
Hope to see you at a stitch night soon! Once I get settled in my new house and get a dining room table, you ladies will all have to come over for a stitch night!
That derby sounds like so much fun! Love the cars! Great pics of springy goodness too.
Love the doves Catherine! We have a pair that have nested in a tree in our garden for the last few years. That derby sounds like a lot of fun! Isn't it lovely to see the signs of Spring appearing!
Awww, I hate the guys didn't win but I know you all had fun anyway. Love the dove pics - spring is here!
Ah, yes, the Pinewood Derby!! Many an hour was spent helping the guys on their little cars. They really got into it--especially when they were competing against each other :)
Hope you're not getting that crazy snow/rain stuff, Catherine--it sure looks like it on the news :(
So you've got scouts too! My DS placed 3rd in his troop last year. He's now in Boy Scouts and was off on a camping trip this past weekend so we missed the Derby.
I love the pictures of the mourning doves; how cute! But the purple crocus are my favorite. Hooray for spring!
Glad to see boys are still in scouts. Mine is an Eagle Scout now serving in the Air Force.

Your crocus' are BEAUTIFUL!!! And I think that is a little Forsythia flower there beside them, no? I'm SO envious!! Isn't it funny how something so delicate is the first to poke its head through the freezing weather...
LOve the Birds congratulations to the boys on their cars they look great.
