Can you believe what you are seeing!?! Yes ~ a finish!!
Perhaps you heard a loud screech a few nights ago....that was just me celebrating!
Perhaps you heard a loud screech a few nights ago....that was just me celebrating!
This ended up taking way longer than it should have ~ that's just what happens when you keep misplacing your stitching time.
An easy stitch and very true words....
I tweaked the colors just a touch, including the fabric...
The bone after "Be loyal and faithful" was not charted to be encased in the blue, but after stitching the bone and the red, it just wasn't popping on my fabric choice....so, in went the blue.
The heart in "Forgive quickly" was charted green like the grass....couldn't do a green heart....presto, it's red....
And the dog, well, of course, changed to resemble Panzer....hubby says the tail is still too long....oh well....
I would really love to start something new, but I do have some wip's that are jumping back out at me.
Perhaps I will work on them for now and allow myself a New Year's start.
Andrea over at The Craft Room hosted her 5th annual Christmas Random Act of Kindness. She stitches as many ornaments as she can over the year and then hosts a giveaway draw....I was lucky enough to have my name chosen this year and was so excited when the package arrived....
The stitching and finishing are perfect! It's hard to see from this picture I snapped with my phone, but the edges are beaded....love, love, love!!! Thank you, Andrea!! If you pop on over to her blog, she even has a tab at the top explaining her yearly event and showing some of the past ornaments. What a sweet way to spread smiles for Christmas!
Panzer says, "What?"
"I smell change in the air...."
"I need my boys to reassure me....my crate was taken down....something about making room for some sort of tree and holiday celebrations....I was thinking more along the lines of indoor plumbing for me perhaps...."
"While waiting for the tree....I'll just snuggle in and keep warm...it's gonna be bitter cold the next few days!"
Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving ~ in spite of all that 2013 has thrown at us this year, I am still lucky to have many blessings to be thankful for ~ including all of my stitching and blogging friends!
We are preparing for a houseful of guests for Thanksgiving....Grandma, Pappy, my brother and his girls....can't wait to have them all here!!

Congratulations on your finish! I like the changes you made. I need to start making changes from time to time instead of plowing through.
Like you, I'm working on WIPs now and will have a New Years Start. I already have that ready to go. Actually I have two of them ready to go. I'm doing the same thing with quilting, those my new start on that one will come the end of January.
You know I always enjoy seeing Panzer!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Love the finish!
Congratulations on a wonderful finish! I love how you made the dog look like Panzer -- perfect personal touch. Have a lovely Thanksgiving - it is going to be bitter cold here too. I'm not ready for this weather, but then I never am- hugs - carol fun
Ohhh, such a lovely finish. You must be thrilled. I also will stitch on some WIPs until the end of the year and will then start a couple of new things. I'm already looking forward to it.
Enjoy your lovely gift from Andrea. And have a great Thanksgiving with your family.
I love Lizzie Kate designs, and this one is so true. I'm fond of dogs, we have a French Bulldog, and sometimes it makes me really sad, that people are saying she is a combat dog and are afraid of her :( I know how cute and loveable she is. I love your ornie as well, it's a very nice design, maybe next year I'll have enough time to join this or else RAK :)
We are not celebrating thanksgiving here, but it was so good to read about what you were thankful for!
Yay! Love your changes.
Yes, I see that Panzer IS a lap dog! ;)
Yahoo! I love that you changed the dog to resemble Panzer - great job. I have this one in my stash....maybe next year. Dog noses! I love them and Panzer's is perfect. I know...a silly quirk of mine but I can't help it. Enjoy your weekend and then Thanksgiving. :o)
Lovely finish!! Woohoo!

Love the finish and all the personal touches you put in -- especially Panzer, of course! Panzer is such a sweetie -- love seeing pics of him. Enjoy your Thanksgiving!
Congrats on your finish, and your win, both very sweet indeed! Happy T-Day to you and yours, and of course Panzer who no doubt will be enjoying a few reward morsels to make up for having to venture outdoors in the cold:)
Aww such a sweet finish..I love it so much..

You did a truly wonderful job in making the sampler your own, Catherine! I can't believe how much the dog looks like Panzer. It feels great to have a new finish, doesn't it?
I'm so glad you won one of Andrea's ornaments! Her work is perfection... I was lucky enough to win a Pay It Forward from her a few years back :)
Just noticed in your sidebar your "Books I Have Enjoyed" list. I just finished reading The Language of Flowers, too--absolutely loved it!
Enjoy your Thanksgiving with your family, Catherine... After a hard year, it is good to gather with those that truly matter in life and realize all we've been blessed with...
What a great finish.
Love seeing the dog photos.

Hi dear Catherine! Happy dancing with you. It seems finishes are few and far between for me lately.
I am catching up with friends as I had a forced blogging break. I hope to post regularly now.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hugs from Holland ~

Congratulations on such a sweet finish, Catherine. I love the changes you made.
I was also a lucky recipient of Andrea's RAK. Aren't her stitching and finishing perfection?
Funny about Panzer....last year I moved Rosie's crate to make room for the den Christmas tree and she still laid where the crate was....right in front of the tree! I guess "our furbabies" are creatures of habit.
Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving to you and your family :)
That's a great finish. The tweaks you made are perfect!
I think I'm going to have to forgo a tree this year.......sadly. My 'kittens' aren't so small any more but they still love to play.....a lot. I'm not sure I'm up to them fighting with and inside a tree in the house all month long. Might have to wait until next year. lol
VERY sweet little RAoK.She does great work.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!!!! :)
Congrats on your finish looks great, also lovely gift win from Andrea .

Yay......round of applause.....fabulous finish, well done.
Was that what I heard here in VT, you rejoicing? :-)
Congrats on a wonderful finish.
Each time I see pics of your dog I am amazed at the size...huge. I say this as my 6.5# Yorkie sleeps curled up on my leg.
Gorgeous stitching projects. It's been great catching up with all your posts. I've missed blog land. Xx
Congrats on your finish Catherine! It looks wonderful :)
