Earlier in the week, I knew I was not going to make it to the end of "Live Simply". My GAST Mulberry was running out! I was so close!
"Live Simp" required a trip to the Strawberry Sampler. These trips are always much better if you take a friend or two. My good friend Brett came along. She is new to stitching (she just started last fall when her son started full day school) and she seems to be a natural! She's already trying her hand at linen and acquiring stash! After a quick stop at the drive-through, we were on our way with coffee and Chai Latte in hand. Nikki met up with us at the shop.
The Mulberry seemed to orange and of course I did not take the stitching with me to see how close (or not so close) it was, so Nikki kindly offered to bring hers to the next stitch night hosted by the Sampler to see if any of hers match. Thanks Nikki!
I ordered frames for some pieces I stitched last year and found a premade frame for another. Pictures will follow when they are all put together. We made our purchases and then headed for some lunch (stash enhancement takes a lot of energy). We had some interesting conversations and a lot of good laughs - so much so, that we were told we were having too much fun and would have to leave! We did have to head on our way though, as Brett and I had to get home in time for our boys to get off of the bus.
I finally finished the PS piece!!
This design is from PS #83 Winter Samplers. There are three patterns total in this leaflet. I have one more to stitch!
And, I started a cute snowman by MollyMade (Molly can be found at the Strawberry Sampler!)
I will be stitching some more on this today while watching the snow falling outside. I am using colors that I have on hand, so there are some changes. And, I might just start the "New England Winter" from By the Bay Needlearts.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend filled with love, laughter and stitching!

Glad you had fun with your friends. Love the PS finish, it's beautiful. You're so fortunate to have a LNS, there aren't any around where I live.
Any excuse to go to the LNS. Love that color! Glad you and Catherine had so much fun.
Lovely finish.
Glad you got to go to the LNS with friends. It's so much fun that way! Love your PS finish-- it's so pretty!
Pretty starts and so sad about running out of floss. But, you had a reason to shop!
Sounds like a good time with friends!
I think my Mulberries are too dark! I'll bring it anyway. I spell my name Nikki, though.
OK....That's it! Next time I'm in that area for work I NEED to meet up with you even if it's for a quick stop at the SS. I'm feeling left out.
sniff~sniff
Great finishes! LNS with friends sounds like a fun time.
I love overdyed thread but it is frustrating to run out while working on a project. The new thread never seems to match for me. Hope you find the right shade. Congrats on the PS finish!
What fun! So glad you met AVS! I hear a lot of Strawberry Sampler. I will have to keep that in mind if/when I get back to the East Coast! Congrats on your PS finish. It's beautiful!
Ugh, overdyed threads. They can be hard to match. I think my Mulberry is dark or I'd offer to send it to you...
Sounds loke a great day was had by all! Love the PS finish.
Sounds like a great day! What a nice PS finish and that snowman is cute! Hope you get a match for the Mulberry.
Congratulations on the PS finish, Catherine--it really is gorgeous! I'm sure someone will come to the rescue with some mulberry for you! It must be nice to have a wonderful LNS nearby--I'm jealous!!
